Funeral Services for Allen J Mayeux will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2013 in the chapel of Alexandria Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with Deacon Ray D. Gibson officiating. Entombment will be in the Alexandria Memorial Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held in the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 10:30 with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.

Allen J Mayeux, 93, of Pearl River, formerly of Alexandria, passed away June 3, 2013 in Slidell, LA.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mary Nolia Mayeux; one granddaughter Stephanie Mayeux Deyarment; one sister Joyce Riche'; and his parents Phineas and Justina Mayeux.

Mr. Mayeux worked for many years for the Louisiana Hoop Company, and Meeker and Cinclair Sugar Mills, where he was a machinist. He also worked as a mechanic for the Chevrolet dealership in Bunkie, LA. Although Mr. Mayeux did not serve in the military, he had the honor of working at Fort Polk, building barracks for the soldiers. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church for many years. Mr. Mayeux loved spending time outdoors where he was an avid fisherman, crab fisherman, craw-fisherman and loved running yo-yos.

He is survived by his two sons: C.J. Mayeux and his wife Maxine; and Daniel Mayeux, Sr. and his wife Brenda, all of Pearl River; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
