Graveside Services for August Joseph "Davis" Bruyninckx will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 with Rev. Craig Scott Officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville, under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

August Joseph "Davis" Bruyninckx, 86, of Alexandria, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 at Matthews Memorial Nursing Home.

Davis is preceded in death by his parents, Felix Nicholas Bruyninckx and Maria Rosalia Vandersypen Bruyninckx; brothers, John Joseph Bruyninckx, Louis Joseph Bruyninckx, and Felix Joseph Bruyninckx; sisters, Blondina Marie Bruyninckx Woodard, and Rose Mary Bruyninckx Jones; and grandson, Benjamin Joseph Bruyninckx.

Davis was a generous and loving husband of 65 years, father, and grandfather. He farmed on Bayou Rapides in Alexandria for greater than 50 years, where he raised two boys and three girls. He was selfless, always thinking of others. He was a devoted Catholic. Davis never met a stranger. The mention of his name will always bring a smile and fond memories to those who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lillian Eschol Bruyninckx of Alexandria; two sons, David Bruyninckx and wife Marie and Michael Bruyninckx; three daughters, Debbie Decker and husband James, Dianne Bordelon and her husband Clark, and Susan Lachney and her husband Steve; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be grandsons Joey Bruyninckx, Russell Bruyninckx, Trey Decker, Andy Decker, Matthew Bruyninckx, Jason Bordelon, and Davis Bordelon. Honorary Pallbearer will be Huey Peterman.
