Funeral Services for Bertie S. Corey will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with Rev. James Ferguson officiating. Entombment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2013 and again from 8:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Bertie S. Corey, age 97, formerly of Alexandria, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Oak Haven Community Care Center, Center Point, LA.
She is preceded in death by her parents Beamer and Lettie Scroggs; her husband Edward "Fuzzy" Corey; five brothers: Cecil Scroggs, Bert Scroggs, Elva Scroggs, Kirby Scroggs and J.D. Scroggs; two sisters Helen Scroggs Lucas and Billie Ruth Scroggs Curtis, and one nephew W.B. Scroggs.

Bertie was co-owner and operator of Fuzzy's Café. She was a devout Catholic. Bertie devoted her life to others, being the kindest person you would ever meet. She loved fishing, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by 11 nieces and nephews: Dewana Hilton and husband Barry of Pineville, Mary Luno and husband Danny of Orange, Tx, Connie Rodgers of Mauriceville, Tx, Rhonda Gremillion and husband John of Walker, La, Donna Roberts and husband John of Centerpoint, La, Cheryl Bernard and husband Sanford of Fifth Ward, La, Gary Scroggs and wife Deannie of Lake Charles, La, Phil Scroggs and wife Margaret of Elton, La, Marilyn Cloutier and husband Alex of Navarre Fl, Doris Williford and husband John of NC, Murlene Gallent and husband Jimmy of Pineville, La and numerous great nieces and nephews.
