Billy Cole Faubion
A Memorial Service for Billy Cole Faubion will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, February 7, 2013 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with Rev. Matt Woollett officiating.
Billy Cole Faubion, 73, of Alexandria, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Milton O. and Celia Faubion; three brothers and three sisters; and two grandchildren, Cody Richard Senez and Summer Allyce Martin.
Bill was born and raised in Evant, a small town in Central Texas.
He met his true love and wife of nearly 50 years: JoAnn in Douglas, Arizona while working in that area for his family-run Trucking Company.
He was a successful businessman for many years. He moved his family to Central Louisiana to move the headquarters of the trucking company to this area. He remained a true-Texan although he lived and enjoyed the Louisiana culture for the last 42 years of his life. He was President/CEO of Faubion Truck Lines, which became at one point a fleet of 30+ trucks. He also was the owner of Faubion Fresh Produce Market in the 1990's.
Bill loved going to Las Vegas where he participated in many Blackjack tournaments. He was an accomplished big game and waterfowl hunter. He was also a Pro-Bass fisherman who enjoyed many tournament wins. Bill was competitive in nature and also enjoyed playing golf and Scrabble and preferred not to lose at any game. Bill spent many years in the company of his Labradors: Reagan and Nixon. He was a member of the Central Louisiana Hunter Retriever Club and brought his dogs to the Grand Champion Level. Duke and Tucker, his Yorkies, became his companions later in life even though they couldn't retrieve.
Bill participated in all of these hobbies including his family in these activities. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was a great family man and a good friend to many. He provided well for his family and gave them amazing lives, morales and work-ethic.
His smile would light up a room and his twinkling blue eyes and mischievous grin will be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, JoAnn M. Faubion of Alexandria; four children, Brian Cole Senez and wife Terry of Walker, Coleen Ann Faubion Stokes and husband Dannon of Abbeville, Doreen Ann Tolson and husband Bill of Lafayette, and Billy Charles Faubion and wife Angela of Alexandria; six grandchildren, Courtney Lynn Martin of Lafayette, Chad Cole Martin of Lafayette, Nicholas Cole Faubion of Alexandria, William Nelson Faubion of Alexandria, Brittney Mackenzie Jeansonne of Alexandria, and Mark William Tolson III of Lafayette; two great grandchildren, Nathan Travis-Cole Martin of Abbeville and Olivia Allyce Breaux of Lafayette. He is also survived by two beloved siblings; a brother, Charles B. Faubion and wife Betty of Austin, TX and a sister, Gracie Sawyer and husband Harold of Oklahoma.
Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until time-of-service Thursday, February 7, 2013 at John Kramer & Son.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Caliste Rougeau, Paul Seeser, Bill Autrey, Dr. Malcolm Denley, Matt Mathews, Bill Funderburk, Rob Nichols, Ernest Sasser, and Dr. Wilbur Wells.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to: Ronald McDonald House, 1907 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice Campassus for their loving care of Bill.
Notes of condolence may be sent to the family online at KramerFunerals@aol.com.
