Services for Grace Hayden will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2013, in the chapel of John Kramer & Son, with Rev. Collin McClendon officiating. Interment will be held in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at John Kramer & Son.
Grace Hayden, 83, of Alexandria, passed away February 5, 2013, in her residence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Hayden, her parents, Lula and Laurence Talbert, and her older sister Hazel Cowan.
Grace was born and raised in Winnsboro, where her parents farmed for their living. She was taught hardworking values and morals that she lived all her life. Grace graduated from nursing school and moved to Alexandria where she worked as a nurse anesthetist at Rapides Regional and Cabrini hospitals. Grace enjoyed quilting, gardening and her beautiful flowers. She devoted her life to raising her children, her job, and enjoying being outdoors planting and gardening. She was a very strong and dedicated mother , wife, and friend to all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include five children, Janice McKay of Pollock; Frankie Kirkwood of Baton Rouge; Abbie Montgomery of Walker; Mary Hayden of Pollock; and John Hayden of Pollock; three grandchildren, Curtis Baxter of Baton Rouge; Melissa Ardoin of Walker; and Elizabeth Lavespere of Alexandria; two great grandchildren, Layla Grace Ardoin and Natasha Dominick and one sister, Mildred Sullivan of Winnsboro.
