Services for Mrs. Gracie J. Turner will be held Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 2 p.m in the chapel at John Kramer & Son with Rev. Jason Huffman officiating. Interment will be at Alexandria Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 9.00 a.m. until time of service Thursday in the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents Farley and Essie May Norman and one daughter Deborah Futrell.
Mrs. Turner, 74, of Alexandria, passed away June 8, 2013 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Claude Turner of Alexandria, La.. Her sons; Samuel W. Turner and his wife Kathy of Boyce, LA and Jesse Turner and his wife Shannon of Otis, LA. Her daughter, Veronica Williams and her husband Doug of Iowa, LA . Five grandchildren: Norma MacDonald, Che Troquille, Beau Turner, Matthew Turner and Josh Turner. Three great- grandchildren: Josh and Jude Troquille and Ethan Turner. Three brothers: James Norman of Reed Springs, MO; Jimmy Norman and his wife Evelyn of Blackshear, GA and Grady Norman of Alma, GA. One sister, Betty Jean Salazar of Waycross, GA.
Mrs. Turner loved her church and reading her Bible. She also loved her flower and vegetable garden, feeding wild birds and crafts. She was loved by all and will be truly missed.
Pallbearers will be Robert Miller, Che Troquille, Beau Turner, Matthew Turner, Josh Turner and Doug Williams.
