Henry Charna Boone, Jr.
Services for Henry Charna Boone, Jr. will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2013, in the chapel of John Kramer & Son, with Bro. Lloyd Bye, Bro Jimmy Koonce and Bro. Lee Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at John Kramer & Son.
Henry Charna Boone, Jr. , Lecompte farmer, passed away at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Saturday, January 26, 2013. He was a devoted Christian father, pawpaw, and great pawpaw. He was a member and deacon of Cedar Grove Baptist Church all of his life. He was born on March 24, 1927 on Chickamaw Road to Henry, Sr. and Agnes Drewett Boone.
Charna was on the original Board of Directors of Cotton Storage Warehouse, President of the board of Cotton Growers Gin in Lecompte and also served on the Board of Directors of Bayou Boeuf Co-op in Cheneyville. He served on the county committee of FSA and served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 60 years, Violet Saunders Boone, brothers J.T., Roy and Ray Boone, sisters Wilma Boone Johnson, Willie Doris (Bill) Boone Hickman, Cherry Boone Levesque, and Callie Boone Harvey.
He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Ann (Pat) Boone, Margaret Faye Boone Hebert and her husband Frank, son, Michael Charna Boone and his wife Debbie (Crooks) all of Lecompte. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Michael Todd Boone and his wife Catherine, John Henry Boone and wife P.J., Joshua Frank Hebert and wife Amanda, James Huey Hebert and wife Jessica, and Kayla Hebert Foster and husband Chad, five grandchildren, Nathan Boone, Austin Boone, Ethan Hebert, Anne Claire Hebert, and Gemma Rose Hebert and one step granddaughter, Avary Benn. He is also survived by his sisters, Juanita Boone Saunders of Channelview, Texas, Ione Boone Saunders of Magnolia, Texas, Mary Boone Johnson of Leeds, Alabama, Sue Boone Crawford of Gautier, Mississippi and Carolyn Boone Ates of Lecompte and brothers William Allen Boone of Lecompte and Terry Boone of Gardner.
Pall bearers honored to serve will be Todd Boone, John Boone, Joshua Hebert, Jim Hebert, Chad Foster, and David Hickman.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 1014 Chickamaw Rd., Lecompte, LA 71346.
