Funeral Services for Mrs. Mavis Madeline Perry McCann Nugent will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday May 18, 2013 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with Eddie Ratliff officiating. Interment will follow in Paul Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mavis Madeline Perry McCann Nugent, age 90, formerly of Alexandria, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in her residence.

She is preceded in death by her parents James Richard Perry and Lula Musgrove Perry; husband and father of her children Ferman Earnest McCann; her second husband, Tildon Nugent; her siblings: Essie Baronne, Esther Mae Johnson, Kenneth Perry and John J. Perry.
Mavis was a longtime resident of Rapides Parish, where she lived in Forest Hill, most of her life before moving to Alexandria. During the last four years, due to ailing health, she moved to Livingston, LA where she was cared for by Marc, Russell, Stephen and Mandy until her death. Mavis worked and retired from the Human Resources Department for the State of Louisiana. She loved cooking, flowers, people and life.

Those left to cherish her memories include her children: Kenneth "Mac" McCann and wife Virginia of Pineville, Sharon McCann Martin and husband Fred of Granbury, TX, and Russell Craig McCann of Livingston, LA; her grandchildren: Cheryl Zerbe and husband Jerry of College Station, TX; Terri Jensen of Pineville; Karen Mullins and husband Mark of Hurst, TX; Kevin McCann and wife Stephanie of Pineville; Waverly Muller of Towson, MD; Brent Welty and wife Christine of Clinton, MO; Marc McCann of Walker, LA; Stephen McCann and wife Renee of Livingston, LA and Amanda McCann of Livingston, LA; 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Marc McCann, Stephen McCann, Kevin McCann, Brent Welty and John Perry.
