A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Nina Dauzat will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013, in Our Lady of Lourdes of Catholic Church in Fifth Ward with Rev. Silvereno Kawabuza officiating. Entombment will follow in Our Lady Lourdes Mausoleum, under the direction of Kramer of Fifth Ward.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013, and again of Saturday 8:30 am to 10:30 am at the funeral home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Nina Dauzat, age 58, of Fifth Ward, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in her residence.

She is preceded in death by her father Webster Dauzat.

Nina was born to Webster and Delora Dauzat on July 15, 1954. She was a graduate from Marksville High. Nina was a secretary for most of her life for the family owned businesses. She was a homemaker, loved cooking, gardening, taking care of her kids and grandchildren. Nina was a member of the Fifth Ward Community all of her life, she was always there for the community events helping in any way she could. Nina will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all of the Fifth Ward Community.

She is survived by her mother Dolora Dauzat; her husband of 40 years, Michael "Dottie" Dauzat; her daughter Beckie Scroggs and husband Derek; her son Brian Dauzat and her two granddaughters Makenzie and Madelyn Scroggs all of Fifth Ward. She is also survived by one brother Gary Dauzat and wife Gertrude of Moncla, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Matthew Dauzat, Phillip Brouillette, John Dauzat, Jeff Herde, Chad Coco, and Darrell Dubroc.

The family would like to thank All Saints Hospice, family, friends and all of the Fifth Ward Community for all of the help, and support that was given.
