Services for Mrs. Sylvia Rhame will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2013 at Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Melder, LA. Rev. Brian Prucey, Rev. Jason Townley, Rev. Jerry Johnson, Rev. Bill Blackmon and Benji Rhame will be officiating. Interment will be at Pine Ridge Cemetery under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 5:00-10:00p.m. and again Monday, June 24, 2013 from 10:00a.m.-1:00p.m. at Pine Ridge Baptist Church.
Mrs. Sylvia Ruth Monroe Rhame, 83, of Forest Hill passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her parents Marshall and Amanda Monroe; husband Columbus Rhame, four brothers; William J. Monroe, James Monroe, Ocie A. Monroe and Roy Gillespie; one sister Ruby Lee Wagner.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons; Richard D. Rhame and wife Barbara of Leander, LA; Clyde E. Rhame and wife Barbara of Calcasieu, LA and Ronald W. Rhame of Forest Hil,LA. Her daughter Brenda Fish and husband Russell of Cottonport, LA. Twelve grandchildren: Caronda, Columbus, Clyde Jr., Laurie, Rusty, Benji, Ashley, Amy, Nicole, Jill, Michael and Rhonda. She was also blessed with nineteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Rhame retired after 18 years of service with Louisiana Special Education. She was Baptist by faith. In her leisure time, she loved to cook and quilt. She always had a strong desire to help others. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed by them.
Pallbearers will be Michael Rhame, Rusty Fish, D.J. Turner, Columbus J. Rhame, Columbus J. Rhame Jr. and Clyde Rhame Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, great grandsons, grandson-in-laws and nephews.
