William "David" Roland, III

A Celebration of life for William "David" Roland, III, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at John Kramer & Son, Alexandria and receiving friends and family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

He was preceded in death by his mother, June Wagner Roland; his maternal grandparents, Capt. C.E. Wagner and Lula Mae Wagner and paternal grandparents, W.D. "Bill" Roland, Sr. and his wife, Frances Bunch Roland.

David Roland, III, 56, of Hineston, passed away May 27, 2013 surrounded by his family.

David is survived by his wife of 31 years, Erin Brogan Roland; his sons, Rusty Lee Brogan and William David Roland IV; his daughter, Jillian June Roland; his father, William D. "Bill" Roland, Sr.; his brother, C.W. Roland, Sr. and his wife, Rhonda and their children, C.W. Roland, Jr., Cody Roland and Trey Roland and one sister, June Lurline Wilkerson.

He worked as a Superintendent at Roland Construction Company from 1984-1993. He was very proficient at Engineering and Designing Control Line and Radio Control Airplanes. David was a SCCA National Race Car Driver from 1988-2008 winning multiple divisions and national championships. Served as Charter Member for the Flying Pelicans and the American Model Association (AMA).He flew for the Academy of Model Aeration surrounding and national competitions.
